Setup Proxy for Steam on Windows and Mac

On this guide we will show you how to set up the proxy on WIndows and Mac. However, we highly recommend you use MoreLogin as it’s easier and more versatile. Also, keep in mind that with this method Steam Client (along with other applications) won’t use the Windows / Mac proxy settings, so if you log into Steam Client it will use your normal IP.

Setting up proxies on Windows 10 & 11

The proxy setup for Windows 10 and 11 is identical. The newer Windows versions allow you to configure the most important options through the Settings application. To configure proxy server settings, follow the instructions below.

1. Navigate to Start > Settings > Network & Internet.

2. Go to Proxy

3. Deactivate Automatically detect settings and then click on Use a manual proxy server.

4. Fill in the details from Proxy for Steam, then click Save.

5. Open your browser and it will ask you for a username and a password which you got from Proxy for Steam.

6. Go to whatismyip.com to verify that the IP belongs to the country you want

Setup Proxy for Steam on Mac

On your Mac, use proxy settings to manage internet proxy services. Learn how to enter proxy server settings.

To change these settings, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click Network  in the sidebar, click a network service on the right, click Details, then click Proxies. (You may need to scroll down.)

Automatic proxy configuration				Use a proxy auto-configuration (PAC) file.Enter the address of the PAC file in the URL field.
Web proxy (HTTP)				Use a web proxy server.Enter the server address and port number.If needed, turn on “Proxy server requires password,” then enter your user name and password.
Secure web proxy (HTTPS)				Use a secure web proxy server.Enter the server address and port number.If needed, turn on “Proxy server requires password,” then enter your user name and password.
SOCKS proxy				Use a SOCKS proxy server.Enter the server address and port number.If needed, turn on “Proxy server requires password,” then enter your user name and password.
Exclude simple hostnames				Bypass proxies for network destinations with simple hostnames (for example, https://server).
Bypass proxy settings for these hosts & domains				Enter the hosts and domains to bypass. Separate multiple items with commas.
