- Click “Continue” and solve the captcha. Check the Troubleshooting and Alternative Option section if you encounter an error.
- Verify your email address.
- Choose your username and password.
- Congratulations! You now have an Argentinian Steam account.
Step-by-Step Guide – Signing Up with a VPN
For this part I’ll be using UrbanVPN.
- Open a new incognito window (CTRL + Shift + N for Chrome, and CTRL + Shift + P for Firefox)
- Open UrbanVPN and choose Argentina

See how it says Buenos Aires, C AR, this means that the VPN is working.

Here is where some of you might have issues, as Steam won’t let you go past this point. It will tell you that there has been an error when solving the captcha, even though you solved it correctly. This happens because Steam knows that you are using a VPN; most of the VPNs out there have their IPs blacklisted. So, if you’re having this problem, check the “Troubleshooting and Alternative Option” section in this guide below. If it still doesn’t work for you, you can try the second method in this guide.
If you managed to go past this point, and Steam is asking you to verify your email, then you can continue with this guide.
5. Go to your email inbox and click on the verify my email address button
6. Return to the Steam page, type your account’s username and password
7. Click “Done“
You now have an Argentinian Steam Account!

If the method described above did not work for you, you can try another option. However, it may not work for all accounts, and I am not sure why. During my tests, only one account out of several that I tried did not work. Later in Step 5, I will explain how you can tell if this method will work for your account.
Please note that for this method, you will need to buy a Steam Gift Card. However, the method itself is still free because the funds from the Gift Card will be added to your account and you can use them to purchase games.
In a nutshell:
- Buy a 100 ARS Argentinian gift card from G2A, Kinguin, or Eneba.
- Create a new Steam account without using a VPN.
- Logout
- Open a new incognito window.
- Connect to an Argentina VPN.
- Log in to your new Steam account and go to “Account Details“.
- Click “Add funds to your Steam Wallet” and change country to Argentina (ARS).
- Click “Redeem a Steam Gift Card or Wallet Code“. Make sure the currency shows as ARS and redeem the code.

Part 2: Create Steam Account without VPN
For this part of the guide, do not activate the VPN yet.
- Go to the main Steam page.
- Click “Login” in the upper right corner.
- Scroll down and click “Join Steam“
- Enter your email and keep your current region (we’ll change it later).
- Click “Continue“
- Go to your email inbox and click on the verify my email address button
- Return to the Steam page, type your account’s username and password, then click “Done“
- Log out of your new Steam account.
Part 3: Connect to Argentina VPN
- Open a new incognito window (CTRL + Shift + N for Chrome, and CTRL + Shift + P for Firefox)
- Open Urban VPN.
3. Where it says Enter site to unlock you will type Steam address: https://store.steampowered.com/
4. Hit Enter on your keyboard. It will then take you to Steam website but using USA VPN
5. Change the server to Argentina.
6. This step is only if you’re using Hola VPN. Close your browser and open an incognito window again. Repeat step 2 and 3, it will now load Steam website using the Argentina VPN.
Part 4: Change Region to Argentina
Before you proceed make sure that the VPN is working and that you have an Argentinian IP by going to https://whatismyip.com as shown previously.
- Log in to your new Steam account.
2. Go to “Account Details” by clicking on your username in the upper right corner.
3. Click “Add funds to your Steam Wallet“
4. Click on your country and then choose Argentina (ARS).
5. Click on Argentina again.
6. Click “Redeem a Steam Gift Card or Wallet Code“
7. Now, on the next page the currency must be shown in ARS like this:
If it doesn’t show up as ARS then redeeming the code won’t change the region for you. See troubleshooting below for more information about this.

- Try with a different VPN.
- Try with a different browser.

Do’s and Dont’s with your new Steam Account
- DO NOT try to link or even buy games with a foreign card. Games can only be bought with Steam Wallet funds. You can get these by redeeming Steam Gift Card keys or by selling articles and/or Steam skins on the Steam Market. PayPal, foreign cards, or foreign payment gateways won’t work.
- DO NOT do any market trades for at least 15 days.
- DO NOT use a VPN. You don’t need the VPN anymore as you have already changed the region.
- You can change the region only once every 3 months.
- You cannot give games from this account to another account that has a different regional market.
- You can receive games or funds as gifts through Steam from other accounts with the SAME REGION.
