Joining Game Pass Ultimate automatically upgrades your existing Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and/or EA Play (purchased through Xbox) memberships.

If I no longer want Game Pass Ultimate, can I go back to Xbox Live Gold, EA Play, Xbox Game Pass for Console, or PC Game Pass?

Yes, you can return to your prior subscription by canceling Game Pass Ultimate and re-purchasing your prior subscription. To cancel, sign into your Microsoft account and select Cancel subscription. You’ll have an option to end your subscription on its expiration date. Depending on your subscription’s status, you may also have an option to end it immediately with a refund of the price you paid for Ultimate only. Note that the upgrade of any prepaid time can’t be reverted to Xbox Live Gold or other Xbox Game Pass plans and is not eligible for refund.

After I join Game Pass Ultimate, can I still redeem Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass codes?

Yes. After you join Game Pass Ultimate, you can continue to redeem Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass for Console, and PC Game Pass codes. These codes will automatically convert to Game Pass Ultimate based on the following conversion table. Conversion ratio subject to change.

How do I stop recurring billing?

The recurring billing feature is switched on by default, meaning you’ll automatically pay for a new subscription period when your current period ends.
